Did you know that 75% of women would like to be more active, but aren’t, because of “worries about being judged for being the wrong size, not fit enough and not skilled enough”?

When UK government agency Sport England found that out, they launched a women’s fitness campaign called “This Girl Can.”

Instead of impossibly-toned models or even chiseled Olympic athletes as the stars, This Girl Can features regular women as they box, row, run, cycle, climb, spin, dance, swim, and play basketball, tennis, soccer (or football, as the Brits would say!), all to the tune of Missy Elliott’s “Get Ur Freak On.” When you click over to the website, it includes an A-Z guide to getting started at every sport in the book, along with behind-the-scenes videos, interviews with the “girls” (my one nitpick–those are grown women kicking butt!), and campaign posters emblazoned with slogans like “Sweating like a pig, feeling like a fox,” “I’m slow but I’m lapping everyone on the couch,” and “I kick balls. Deal with it.” WHOO!
Most importantly, the campaign, which has gone viral in the UK and beyond, shows women of all ages, shapes, and abilities having a goddamn blast–while their bodies “wiggle, jiggle, and move” just like a body should!
